Juan “El Exterminador” Palacios won an eleven round unanimous decision over Luis Carlos Leon to win the WBA Fedelatin minimumweight title. The scores were 108-101, 108.5-101.5*, 110-101. Palacios improves to 27-3, 21 KOs, while Leon falls to 11-4, 10 KOs. The WBA allows for half point scoring in their regional title bouts. Some of the bouts are scheduled for nine and eleven round distances.

Talented American welterweight Brad Solomon had no trouble getting another victory by scoring a knockout in the second round over Mexican Javier Gallegos in the co-feature to the card "Path of Glory", which Prodesa put together on Thursday night at the Pharaohs Casino Events Center in Managua, Nicaragua, as part of the 89th annual convention of the World Boxing Association (WBA).

Solomon had no trouble defeating the Gallegos, who was dominated from the minute the bell rang in the first round. Solomon was superior in every way, delivering the speed, accuracy and intelligence in his boxing. Gallegos was sent to the canvas in the second round. The corner of Mexican decided to call it day so their fighter would avoid further punishment. Solomon improves his record to 15-0 with 7 knockouts, while Gallegos fell to 13-8-2, with 5 knockouts.

In another bout of the undercard, Venezuela's Miguel "Aguacerito" Acosta Panamanian Armando Cordoba in one round. Acosta was heavily favored to prevail in this fight, as he was put against an overmatched opponent who appeared as a late substitute. Acosta, who's WBA lightweight crown was not on the line, improved his record to 28-3-2, with 22 knockouts, while Panama's Cordoba fell to 24-42-3 with 18 knockouts.
