Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, 39-years-old, is very fixated on a 2019 rematch with Floyd Maywetaher.

The two fighters will be in action in the coming months, with a rematch eyed to take place in the aftermath.

Pacquiao will defend the WBA "regular" welterweight title against Adrien Broner in January, and Mayweather, 41-years-old, announced on Monday that he would be fighting Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year's Eve in Japan - and while the rules have not been established, the contest is likely going to be a boxing exhibition.

Pacquiao wants to get revenge for his twelve round decision loss to Mayweather in May of 2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao believes he should have gotten the decision and he's long claimed that a shoulder injury prevented him from putting in a respectable performance.

Their fight shattered all pay-per-view and financial records, with a record breaking 4.6 million buys and over half a billion in revenue.

And a few weeks ago the Filipino star signed on adviser Al Haymon, who also guides the career of Mayweather.

Pacquiao's fight with Broner is expected to get announced very shortly.

"There's a big possibility because Floyd is coming back into boxing. He is fighting in December and I am fighting in January. So a big possibility after that next year, that we will discuss a rematch," said Pacquiao to Sky Sports.

"My thinking is to have a rematch and to make a clear decision on who will win the fight because in the last fight that we had it wasn't clear who won the fight because he didn't throw a lot of punches and he won the fight."

"I had a shoulder injury...but this time, if this rematch happens, there are no excuses, no alibis."
