Recently, BoxingScene.com had the chance to catch up with former junior middleweight champion, Kassim "The Dream" Ouma as he prepares for his upcoming comeback that kicks of this Wednesday from one of the oldest boxing venues in the Lehigh Valley, the Econo Lodge and Conference Center in Allentown, PA. The incredible night of boxing action will be broadcasting LIVE around the WORLD on GFL.tv! Here is what Kassim had to say about his comeback and various other topics:

How is training camp coming?

Well training camps is very good.  I am glad you asked.  It is very good.  I am ready to make it happen.

You have been away from the ring 2+ years.  How long have you been preparing for this comeback?

Well I have been training for 3 months right now.  I haven't fought in a long time so I have been training for 3 months,

Who have you been working with to prepare for this fight?

I have been training with Yoel Judah.  I have been training in Las Vegas.

You are very familiar with the Philadelphia are.  Didn't you train in this area earlier on in your career?

Yes I trained in the Philadelphia are early in my career.  Philadelphia was where we held trained our training camp.

Are you excited about the fact your fight will be broadcasting worldwide on GFL.tv?

I am excited and ready.  I have been training with my brothers in "Green Blood" so I am really excited about that.

How did you feel about the stoppage in your fight with Gennady "GGG" Golovkin?

Pretty the much the stoppage was because of my corner.  I was having trouble seeing so my corner stopped the fight.  As a fighter I felt I could have kept going.  My corner stopped the fight so there was nothing I could do.  I didn't receive a count.  I couldn't say he beat me because I went down.  It was nothing like that.

Would you like a rematch with "GGG" in the future?

Definitely I would love it.

What are your thoughts on the Vanes Martiroysan fight?

Vanes got karma in boxing.  Once you get something like that it comes back around.  That was a bad robbery.  It really put me down.  it made me forget about boxing for a second.

What weight will you be fighting at in your comeback?

I am going to be fighting at 154.  It is my original weight and that is where I feel comfortable at.  When I get the rematch with Gennady, I want it to be at 154.  That is what I was then.

Is it still easy to make 154?

I am working on it.  We will see this time what it takes to make it and how easy it can be.

I interviewed you years back and you refereed to yourself as "Black Irish".  Do you still refer to yourself as "Black Irish" and does it feel good to be on an Irish themed card with fellow Irishmen?

I am "Black Irish".  This time when you see me I am going to fighting on a card with young, "Green Blood" Irish fighters and it feels good.  I am here with a whole bunch of Irish brothers of mine, young fighters who are going to be on the same card as mine so it is going to be good.  They are upcoming fighters and good fighters.

What are your goals for 2014?

I am shooting for a title shot.  After I get the title shot, I will be shooting for the best of the best so I can prove myself.  On my run right now, at an older age, I want to prove myself that I can run with the guys right now.

What would be your one dream fight?

In a perfect world it would be Floyd Mayweather.

What are you thoughts on your loss to Cornelius Bundradge?  Would you want a rematch?

I really don't count that fight with Cornelius Bundradge.  He is not really a high caliber fighter compared to me.  If I fight him again I will crush him quick just to prove to the world that he doesn't belong in there with me.  I am not sure it will happen because I am really looking forward to fighting better fighters in my comeback.

Would a Bundradge fight be worth it for you if it was an eliminator?

Yes!  That would make it worth it form me.  I would love it.  I pray to get a shot like that.

How did you feel about the Gabe Rosado decision?

I don't know what happened.  He was not on the level with me.  I don't understand how he got the decision.  He is on a top level now.  He had a great fight with Quillin.

Do you feel the should change the way they choose judge?  Should they make ex-fighters judges?

I think they should.  If I was a judge I would score the fight for the fighter who does the best.  In basketball, they let ex basketball players get involved because they know the ins and outs of the game.

It has been 3 years since you have been in the ring.  What can fans watching in attendance or live around the world on GFL.tv expect from you?

Fans can expect that Kassim is back!  Fans that have believed in me will know that I am back and fans who don't believe in me will know that I am back.  I know that I can still do it.  I am coming back at 154 pounds to prove I am back and I still have it in me!

With victory what will be on your blueprint in 2014?

My blueprint for 2014 is to become a world champion.  I also want to fight in bigger fights and send my kids to college.

This Wednesday, December 11th, Kassim Ouma will take  on Rahman Yousubov (9-12) over the course of 6 rounds in the Jr. Middleweight division.  Also on the card, "Green Blood" fighters Anthony Cacace & Tyrone McKenna will fight in separate bouts.  In the co-main event Tevin "American Idol" Farmer will fight for the 7th time in 2013 against battle tested veteran Carlos Vinan (10-11-5).  Undefeated Heavyweights Anthony "Jucie" Young (9-0) & Dorsett Barnwell (10-0) will see action also in separate bouts plus much more.
