Dmitriy Salita, promoter for heavyweight contender Otto Wallin, believes his boxer has what it takes to score a knockout win over former unified world champion Andy Ruiz.

Ruiz bounced back earlier this year, in his first fight since losing a twelve round decision, and his unified titles, in his rematch with Anthony Joshua in December 2019.

He was dropped and rocked early on, but roared down the stretch to win a twelve round unanimous decision over Chris Arreola.

Wallin picked up his career best victory back in February, when he outboxed Dominic Breazeale to a decision win.

That victory allowed Wallin to show off his skills after suffering a tough decision loss to Tyson Fury in September of 2019. He badly cut Fury in the fight by way of punches - and the fight came close to being stopped by the ringside physician - which would have given Wallin a TKO win.

Salita feels a fight between Ruiz and Wallin would make sense right now - and he feels his boxer could win the fight by stoppage.

"Beating Breazeale the way he [Wallin] did shows how much he has improved since the Fury fight," Salita told Sky Sports.

"I am sure his size, skills and devotion to his craft is making world class fighters think twice about sharing the ring with him. Otto and Andy gave the toughest challenge to two of the current world heavyweight champions. It makes sense for them to fight, especially if Tyson Fury fights Anthony Joshua [in and undisputed world title fight].

"Definitely [Wallin could knock Ruiz out] and I believe he has the skills, power and size to do it!"
