Oscar Mojica (12-5-1) may not have the prettiest record but he picked up the biggest victory of his career in March when he defeated two-time Olympic bronze medalist Paddy Barnes (5-2) via split decision. The final tallies in Mojica's favor were 58-56 twice and 56-58.

In the main event of the Top Rank card, former welterweight champion Luis Collazo won a split decision over Samuel Vargas. Michael Conlan picked up an unanimous decision victory over Ruben Garcia Hernandez in the co-featured bout.

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with the Dallas native to reflect on the victory.

"More than anything I was happy I got the win. I am pretty hard on myself. I felt I could have got the knockout. In the 1st round I knew I broke his nose and in the second I dropped him with a body shot. Then in the 5th and 6th I let off the gas. I need to improve and that will help me get better fights in the future," said Mojica.

Immediately after the fight there were talks of a possible rematch but Mojica said that he hasn't been contacted by anyone. He has a feeling that if a rematch were to happen that Barnes would want it at the super flyweight weight limit.

I haven't heard anything but I know its something he probably wants to do. Probably at 115. I am just riding the wave to see what I can do in the future," Mojica explained.

For now Mojica has been staying busy in the gym while he waits for an opportunity to come up. He hopes to be back in the ring soon in a significant fight.

"The hardest thing for me is I am not promoted by anyone. I have to sit back and keep training and wait for calls to come through. I have fought for titles before but I know this fight means a little bit more beating an Olympian and the way I beat him. I should get some good opportunities. For now I am just waiting to see what is next," Mojica told BoxingScene.com.
