Puerto Rico’s tiniest reigning titleholder is set for his homecoming.

Oscar Collazo proudly hit the scales at a fight-ready 104.8 pounds for the first defense of his WBO strawweight title. The 26-year-old Boricua southpaw from Villalba faces Garen Diagan, who was 104 pounds for his first career title fight.

Their scheduled 12-round bout headlines a DAZN show this Saturday from Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Collazo (7-0, 5KOs) already fights for the third time in 2023 and enjoys a quick turnaround following his title heist. He won the belt in a seventh-round knockout of Melvin Jerusalem on May 27 in Indio, California. Each of his past three bouts have taken place in California but he now returns home for just the second title fight to take place on P.R. soil since the pandemic. Amanda Serrano defended her WBC/WBO featherweight title in front of a limited crowd due to Covid restrictions atop a March 2021 show in Old San Juan, which featured Collazo on the undercard.

Diagan (10-3, 5KOs) fights for the fourth straight time on the road. The 27-year-old southpaw from General Santos City, Philippines has won two in a row, including a seventh-round knockout of former title challenger Simpiwe Konkco last October 1 in Pretoria, South Africa. In his most recent bout, Diagan outpointed unbeaten Huu Toan Le over twelve-rounds in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
