Oscar Ahlin (12-0,10 KOs) is back in action on May 2. The Stockholm-fighter will face Cameroon-born German Bernard Donfack (21-11-3, 11 KOs) at the Frederiksberg-Hallerne in Copenhagen.

Ahlin wowed fans in the Danish capital last month with the spectacular first-round knockout of Alvaro Gaona. A lightning fast left-hook counter flattened the game Mexican with only 2 minutes and 34 seconds on the clock. Despite the show stealing finish, the fan favourite believes there is still room for improvement.

‘’It was a good win against a tough opponent but I’m never fully satisfied,’’ admits the power-punching perfectionist. ‘’There are always going to be mistakes or things you could have done better, whether the fight last two minutes or twelve rounds.’’

Having recorded his twelfth professional victory, the super middleweight star returns to Copenhagen with his sights set on his next opponent Donfack.

‘’I’ve watched some of his fights. He is a strong guy who comes to fight but I think his style suits me well,’’ said Ahlin. ‘’As long as I stay smart, I’m confident I can get the win.’’

In preparation for this bout the Swedish ‘Goldenboy’ has completed a two-week training camp in Miami followed by a week’s sparring in Berlin with Sauerland stable-mates Tim-Robin Lihaug, Tyron Zeuge, Enrico Koellling and Stefan Haertel.

‘’After the Gaona fight I went to Miami to spar Ahmed Elbiali and now I’m in Berlin where I have been getting some great work,’’ said Ahlin. ‘’In Sweden it can be difficult to get quality sparring, so it’s important to travel so you can gain experience and test yourself against different types of fighters.’’

On May 2, Ahlin is one of three Swedish fighters competing at the Nordic Fight Night, joining heavyweight Otto Wallin and world title challenger Klara Svensson.

‘’It’s great to be a part of such a big night for Swedish boxing,’’ said the 25 year-old. ‘’We’re only a small country when it comes to boxing so we all need to stick together! I hope Klara can bring the world title home.

‘’I have always dreamt of being in her position and challenging for a world title and I know my time will come.  At the moment I’m just taking it one fight at a time. When I get my shot I want to make sure I’m 100% ready but I’ll leave that in the hands of my promoter Nisse Sauerland and coach Luis Lagerman as I trust in them to deliver me the right fights at the right time.’’

Norwegian light heavyweight hopeful Alexander Hagen (6-1, 2 KOs) returns to the ring on May 2 against the Latvian ‘Viking’ Olegs Fedotovs (19-20, 13 KOs). The pair will clash as part of an action-packed night of boxing at the Frederiksberg-Hallerne in Copenhagen.

Hagen’s promising career looked in doubt when the Flekkefjord-boxer suffered a shock KO defeat in September 2014. However, since this loss the 26 year-old has bounced back with two successive victories, including the second-round stoppage of Ivan Stupalo at the Nordic Fight Night in Frederikshavn last February.

‘’I was pleased with my performance against Stupalo. I stuck to my game plan and executed it perfectly. To get the stoppage was a big bonus for me,’’ said Hagen. ‘’I’ve learnt a lot from my loss and I think that’s showed in my last two fights. I’ve come back stronger and more focused, but I still have a lot to prove.’’

To prove his point and continue his progression, Hagen must now defeat the battle hardened Fedotovs.

‘’Fedotovs is a well known name,’’ said Hagen. ‘’He has been in the ring with a lot of quality fighters including Oscar Ahlin, Simen Smaadal, Stefan Haertel. – and the list goes on. He always shows up to fight and he’s not the easiest guy to stop.

‘’Whatever happens in the ring, I promise to give the fans a good performance and an exciting fight. I’m hungry to get in there and show I have what it takes to succeed.’’
