According to numerous reports in Sonora, Mexico - former world champion Orlando Salido was arrested on December 31 after becoming involved in a physical altercation at a bar in downtown Sonora.

The drama started, when Salido allegedly got physical with a woman at the bar. Some reports are suggesting that this woman was Salido's wife, but sources within the boxer's camp have advised BoxingScene.com that Salido and his wife his wife did NOT have an altercation - but his wife's hair was pulled by an unknown individual when the scuffle broke out.

Many of the party goers cleared out when security failed in their attempts to remove the boxer from the establishment.

When security tried to remove the boxer, he refused to leave and got physical with them - which prompted a call to the local police.

Eventually, the police arrived and arrested Salido, who authorities claim was seriously under the influence.

The boxer paid a fine and has since been released.

Salido was in action last month, when he suffered an unexpected knockout loss at the hands of Miguel Roman at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The fight headlined an HBO televised tripleheader. At the time Salido was ranked in the number one position under the WBC. Initially he was scheduled to fight WBC champion Miguel Berchelt, who withdrew with an injury and was later replaced by Roman.

Salido retired after the loss, but then a few days later he changed direction on that decision and announced his return to the sport.

During the last few days, Salido has been trading words with WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs). Salido handed the two-time Olympic gold medal winner the only defeat of his pro career back in 2014 - in Lomachenko's second fight.

There were discussions for the two of them to  take part in a rematch, but the two sides were never able to reach an agreement on the terms.
