“OPERATION YORY BOY” PART V, “TWISTS & TURNS”

As we take yet another look at “Operation Yory Boy” in Part V this morning, it’s all about following the money that was looted from Ramon “Yory Boy” Campas by either Bob Arum’s Top Rank, its Officers, Partners, Agents, and or Contract Employees.  As I’ve detailed with “Evidentiary Exhibits” backing up every allegation I’ve put forth thus far, “Yory Boy” eventually received a check on May 23, 2003 for $73,000 (+$20,000 advance meant a total of $93,000) for his May 3 fight with Oscar De La Hoya.

CHECK FROM “STAR TRUCKING” WAS TRACED!

This checking account of “Star Trucking” or Exhibit #5 in “Operation Yory Boy,” it had been traced by a Arizona Private Investigator back to a couple in Alfonso and Margarita Peterson.  My check of the “Fictitious Business Licenses” in San Diego County revealed “Alfonso & Margarita Peterson” are listed as “General Partners” of MPH POLYMERS TRADE.  (To see Exhibit #5 “Check & Deposit Slip” hit this link and then the return arrow on your browser to continue.)

MAN CLAIMS TO BE EMPLOYEE OF “STAR TRUCKING”

Much like Star Trucking,” there is no telephone listing for this company anywhere in San Diego County.  Their “Fictitious Business License” expired in mid 2004, and was not renewed.  In a stunning event, I did reach somebody at a phone number that said when asked. “Yes, this is the office of Star Trucking.”  He did not know who the Peterson’s were.  When I expanded on the subject of trucks, he seemed more Tonka then 18-wheeler.  Among other things, he said that “Star Trucking was owned by Horacio Jiminez,” who is Yory Boy’s Campas’ Manager!  Interesting and baffling!  But like a lot of things, we don’t know who exactly that was answering the phone.

ALTHOUGH CONFUSED, I’M KEEPING MY EYE ON THE MONEY!

Looking only at the money, if we have a $100,000 purse as we do in a Contract on file with the Nevada Athletic Commission, and Top Rank gave $180,000 to Star Trucking, (Who may or may not be a front for Jimenez) this after a $20,000 advance, aren’t they overpaying Campas to the tune of $100,000?

WAS THIS ABOUT SCREWING YORY & UNCLE SAM TOO?

And if it was a $300,000 purse, as a “Bout Agreement” I have says, and by the fact the WBC & WBA each took $9,000, OR 3% OF $300,000, what happened to the other $100,000 that was taken off the top I ask?  Promised $1 million, then $300,000, but officially only $100,000, Campas ended up with $93,000 BEFORE Mexican taxes!  (To see Exhibit #2 Top Rank pay stub HIT this link and then the return arrow on your browser to continue)

WHERE’S OSCAR ON THE FLEECING OF “YORY BOY?”

Having already asked Oscar De La Hoya for a comment or response ever since Part II of V had been published, I have yet to get one.  Let’s see what kind of stand Oscar takes, seeing he has vowed to “Look out for the fighter” in his mantra as a Promoter and the head of Golden Boy Promotions.  And don’t forget, it was against De La Hoya at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas that Campas was, shall we say, violated in 2003.

CAMPAS HAS HAD THINGS ROUGH ALL OVER!

This is an item that I didn’t want to mention early on in the series because I wanted to stick to business and what Top Rank did to Ramon Campas.  But in August of last year, Yory’s wife lost the set of twins she was carrying!  Want a does of reality?  It is because Campas was shorted, that he has to still fight past his prime for miniscule purses in order to feed his family!  Damn’ anybody that would screw a fighter!  You see unlike a baseball or NBA player, a boxer leaves a part of themselves in each training camp, and certainly in almost every fight!

DRUG TESTING CHIEF TODD WEIGHS IN ON THE AZ FIASCO!

When I first saw Arizonan Dick Todd, he was making a presentation at a WBC Convention (Of which I used to love to attend) on “Drug Screening.”  Impressive in his time on the dais, Todd went back to Arizona was asked to head boxing at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix.  That’s when he met Promoter Peter Mc Kinn, the man pictured in the “Wanted” poster that was part of “Operation Yory Boy Part IV.”  Todd, who claims to have only done two things right in life, “I married my wife and got out of boxing,” he detailed for me the corruption that he witnessed in Arizona.

EVIDENCE GIVEN TO ARIZONA OFFICIALS & COPS TOO!

Todd says that in the late 1990’s Peter Mc Kinn was charging Top Rank $125 for “Eye Exams.”  Only problem with that was Mc Kinn is not an Ophthalmologist!  No, he’s a Mexican-American hustler with an Irish surname!  Said Todd, “The signature Peter Mc Kinn was having put on these Eye Exams were that of Dr. Gary Hall.”

MC KINN AN ACCOMPLISHED ”PEN & INK” MAN!

Obviously a talented “Pen & Ink” man, Mc Kinn didn’t limit his forgery to Medical Exams, he also forged fight tickets.  Again Dick Todd, “There was a slew of confirming evidence, including affidavits that detailed how Mc Kinn had forged fight tickets at Kinko’s.  That he had guys selling them in the parking lot.  Forged $20,000 worth of tickets on a $40,000 show.  They (Arizona Racing Commission) had it all and did nothing!”

WENT TO SEN. MCCAIN AND ARIZONA RACING COMMISSION!

The agency in charge of boxing in Arizona is the “Arizona Racing Commission.”  According to Todd, “Nothing was done.  Not by the Racing Commission or the Phoenix Police, and not Senator John McCain” when he reported the criminal behavior of one Peter Mc Kinn.  As “The Equalizer” looks closer at Mc Kinn in the coming days, I’m doing so with my airsickness bag in hand!  How this guy was granted a Promoter’s License just this past month in Arizona, this to me is baffling.
