Promoter Ahmet Oner has continued his verbal war with former middleweight champion Felix Sturm. They once worked together years ago,  but had a bad falling out. A few months ago, Oner conducted an interview with BoxingScene.com and claimed that Sturm paid a hefty sum of money to avoid his mandatory challenger Gennady Golovkin, who eventually became the WBA champion after the organization elevated him from his interim-status.

"I despise Felix Sturm. The [run of bad luck] was retaliation for his arrogance, losing two fights in a row. He ought to fight with boxers like Ronald Hearns. His ability to just limited. He lost to [Sam] Soliman, and he is 39 years old. Whether Soliman was doping or not, it does not matter - it does not justify the storm. Soliman was not anything special, but as a champion Felix should have selected Gennady Golovkin or Sergio Martinez. These are the fights people want to see! Therefore, the [TV] ratings Sturm is getting are not that good and getting worse," Oner told Spox.
