Former champion Omar Nino Romero (32-5-2, 13KOs), 39-years-old, resumed his career in boxing after a three year layoff, at the Atemajac Plaza de Zapopan in Jalisco, Mexico.

Nino won a ten round unanimous decision over a local fighter, Jesús Sierra. All three judges saw it exactly the same, 97-93 for the former champion.

Nino was last seen on May 13 in 2012, when he was stopped by Brian

Viloria in their trilogy bout. Now he says the hunger is back and he

wants to make one final title run.

He has wins over Rodel Mayol, Juanito Rubillar, Gilbrto Keb Baas, Edgar

Sosa and Brian Viloria. He defeated Viloria the first, and the second,

but the second fight was changed to a no-decision after Nino failed a

drug test.
