Boxing fireworks appear to be on the horizon as WBC lightweight champion Omar 'Panterita' Figueroa warned Ricardo “Dinamita” Alvarez that he'll need more than a night of inspiration to defeat him.

This fight, taking place on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will be Figueroa’s first defense since he conquered the title over Japan's Nihito Arakawa last July.

“I expect a really good fight. He obviously wants to win the title, but that ain’t going to happen, as I'll do my best,” Figueroa vowed.

Figueroa said that due to his talent and rhythm this fight could end by KO and his trainer Joel Diaz agrees. Diaz boldly predicts it won’t last more than "five rounds."

“My trainer knows me, so yeah, I believe I can beat him in five rounds”, Figueroa said.
