Was this an omen for this coming Saturday night?

In front of eleven thousand people, Omar "Businessman" Chavez dramatically put away Ramon "Inocente" Alvarez at 2 minutes and 5 seconds of the second round at the "Mueluel Bernardo Aguirre" Gym in Mexico.

The fight was a rematch of their 2014 encounter, which saw Chavez (36-3-1, 24 KO's) lose a decision to Alvarez (25-6-2, 16 KO's).

Chavez cautiously started the first round by receiving gunfire from an aggressive Alvarez. A right hand from Chavez appeared to shake Alvarez up in the same round, but the Son of a Legend was unable to follow up.

In the second, a rabid crowd - which was divided between the two boxers - was cheering them both on as they traded shots. A big left hand put Alvarez in serious trouble. Chavez then went on the attack with powerful rights, and one of them cracked the jaw of Alvarez and had him out on his feet. Alvarez was pinned against the ropes and appeared to be defenseless, as Chavez was blasting away with punches until the referee stepped in to wave off the contest.

This Saturday, their brothers will collide in the biggest fight on American soil in 2017. Omar's older brother, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., will face Ramon's younger brother, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, at a catch-weight of 164.5-pounds.

The HBO Pay-Per-View fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

"The Chavez dynasty is better. I knew I would knock him out, and now my brother Julio will continue and he will [beat Canelo]. All my respect for Ramon," said Omar.

"I took the opportunity because I knew I could win. I prepared for a tough fight, but I understood that the knockout was possible. [Julio] knows that he can win and he is very well prepared. [Against Ramon] I wanted this victory to provide encouragement for my brother in his fight."
