O2 Arena, London - Watford’s Reece Bellotti (11-0-0, 10KOs) stops Ben Jones (22-6-1, 10KOs) in the sixth to defend his Commonwealth Featherweight title.

Having won his title last time out against Jason Cunningham, Belotti wasted little time in getting the upper hand as he forced Jones to a knee in the fourth and landed a big right hand in the sixth that forced the referee to wave off the fight.

The 27-year-old - trained by Jim McDonnell - looked in control from the off, landing the cleaner shots but was guilty of telegraphing some of his work up close.

Jones, had last fought in April 2017 where he lost a tight split decision against Cunningham, but the inactivity didn't seem to affect him as pressed forward, living up to his reputation as a high-energy boxer.

After several even rounds edged by the champion, Bellotti landed a left to the body that forced Jones to the canvas in the fourth and that was the catalyst for the Watford man to up the pace and force the stoppage in round six.

Surrey heavyweight Nick Webb (11-0-0, 9KOs) extends his unbeaten record with a highlight reel knockout of Ante Verunica (3-4-1, 1KO).

Webb, 30, used his considerable reach advantage to keep Verunica at bay and detonated a huge right hand 2.45 into the second round that left the Croatian in need of medical attention.

Verunica, who was fighting in the UK for the second time, having been stopped in stopped in two by Dilian Whyte in 2014, did try and make things competitive but was made to pay for his wild swings as Webb landed a thunderous right hand to bring an end to proceedings.

Webb will now hope to be out again soon having made his comeback following around 11 months out.

Paul Butler (25-1-0, 13KOs) labours to an eighth round stoppage win over Jefferson Vargas (5-7-0, 0KOs).

The former IBF bantamweight champion dropped his Spain-based opponent with a body shot early in the fifth and made his superior punch selection pay with Vargas unable to get back to his feet following a left downstairs in the final round. The fight was waved off 2.02 into the eighth.

Vargas, perhaps surprisingly, proved to be a worthy opponent as his high work-rate and switch hitting caused Butler problems in several exchanges.

Butler, 29, did stagger Vargas with a lead left hook in centre ring in the fourth but was unable to force the stoppage as the visitor manage get out of range, put his own shots together, and as a result  hear the end of the round.

A barrage of straight shots from Butler in the sixth seem made referee Bob Williams contemplate stopping the contest but again Vargas survived and came back firing with straight shots of his own.

Butler's crisper shot selection become more apparent as the fight went into its latter stages but Butler will be hoping to improve in his next outing.

The 'Baby Faced Assassin' is expected to be on the Amir Khan v Phil Lo Greco undercard in April.

Croydon super flyweight Charlie Edwards ticks over with a routine first round technical knockout of Ricky Little (3-1-1-, 1KO).

Edwards – who challenged for a world title at flyweight in 2016 – had too much for his overmatched opponent, flooring Little with a right hand to the body before finishing the job with several unanswered head shots 2.49 into the opening round.

Edwards, 24, is targeting a shot at WBA champion Kal Yafai in 2018.

First up, Wales’ Sean McGoldrick (3-0-0, 1 KO) makes it back to back stoppage wins with a third round technical knockout over Michael Barnor (14-19-3, 10KOs).

The 2010 Commonwealth gold medallist dropped his Ghanaian opponent with a looping lead hook late in the second and a barrage of heavy shots 2.04 into the third saw the referee wave off the contest.

McGoldrick, 26, had controlled the fight throughout with Barnor showing no attacking intent, and the Newport man will now look to kick on in 2018.
