SSE Arena, Wembley - Ohara Davies comfortably beats Andrea Scarpa on points to claim the WBC silver super lightweight title. All three judges scored the fight 120-108.

‘Two Tanks’ Davies (13-0-0, 11KOs) was in control for much of the contest with Scarpa (20-2-0, 10KOs) unable to deal with the Londoner's awkward style.

Southpaw Davies, 24, hadn’t gone the scheduled distance in his last seven bouts and had his Italian opponent in trouble at the end of the third with a right hand from mid-range.

Turin-based Scarpa beat John Wayne Hibbert in June but found Davies a much tricker proposition.

The defending champion had trouble adjusting to Davies' timing and judgement of distance and had to hold on after a meaty right hand got through in the fifth.

Scarpa threw his first notable shot in the sixth when a short right hand had Davies temporarily recomposing himself, before landing another right hand on the inside which drew encouragement from the visiting corner.

The success proved to be temporary, as Davies bloodied Scarpa's nose in the eighth with more sustained pressure and had Scarpa in trouble with a series of lead left hooks in the eleventh.

A left to the body had Scarpa wincing in the final round but the Hackney fighter had to settle for a points win for only the third time in his career.
