Osvaldo “ Gallito” Novoa (14-4-1, 9KOs) is Bangkok on a mission to defend, and to win with gusto, against undefeated Thai rival Wanheng Menayothin (35-0, 11KOs). Osvaldo stakes his WBC mini-flyweight Champion on November 6th.

"Gallito" had a layover in a hotel at Mexico City airport and was joined on his flight by his representative Eddie Reynoso, from Canelo Promotions; his trainer, Odin Rivera and Marcelo Lopez. Interviewed...he was asked:

- How do you feel prior to this tough defense?

“I 've prepared very well for three months,  I can't wait for the day of the fight”

-Are you prepared for the long trip?

"I have got used to this kind of long trips,  I sleep on the journey.”

-Have you seen Wanheng the videos?

"I've only seen a couple of minutes, I don’t like to see how my rivals fight, but with the bit I saw I could observe how he plants his blows.  He will have to fight different if he has the intention of defeating me.  He would have to take initiave. From the first round. Believe you me I will fight with everything I have to defeat him.

-What the most dangerous aspect of the challenger?

I noticed he is fast. He doesn’t move a lot from his waist, but he throws a lot of rights to the stomach. This is very useful for me as I can land some hard punches on his jaw.

- Are you worried about going to the scorecards?

“ I have been told that it is difficult winning by decision in Thailand. But I fully trust in the World Boxing Council. I am prepared to fight the 12 rounds, but I don’t want it to be decided in the cards. I am going for the KO!

- Do you think you have what it takes to KO Menoyothin?

“ Of course, my preparation is extraordinary. In every duel I have used my power on my rivals. I will come back to Guadalajara with my WBC belt."
