World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire will be gunning for a knockout victory when he collides in a unification with World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight champion Zolani Tete on April 27 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The contest will send the winner to the final round of the World Boxing Super Series tournament.

Donaire (39-5, 25 knockouts), 36-years-old, upset the odds in the first round, when he defeated Ryan Burnett with an unexpected TKO in the fourth round.

Tete, 31-year-old, has a record of 28 wins against three losses with 21 knockouts.

Donaire does not want to leave anything up to chance with contest heading to the scorecards. He wants to end things early and believes he's capable of knocking Tete out.

“That is our goal (to KO Tete) to go out there and give everything we got. When I give everything that I got, I feel I know I can take a lot. I don’t really expect what round but I expect to take him out,” Donaire told The Manila Times via overseas call.

Donaire has found new life in his career after dropping all the way down to the bantamweight division. Donaire had been competing for several years at super bantamweight and featherweight.

“Well, the game of it is not to get hit. But when it comes to power, his power is not equivalent to mine,” said Donaire.

“I am fighting at the weight class that I’m very confident and very comfortable. I had been in higher divisions in the previous fights, two divisions higher. I’m now fighting here (super bantamweight) that’s why my power is dominating in this division. Definitely I’m a lot faster and a lot smoother because at lighter division I’m not as heavy as I am. I feel so good. I’m pretty close to 100 percent. I’m peaking right now. I’m very confident."
