The exhibition between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul escalated Thursday during a kickoff press conference when Jake Paul inserted himself into the picture and snatched the fighter of the decade’s hat off his head.

In a scene that would make WWE chairman Vince McMahon envious, Mayweather and Jake Paul got into a huge scuffle at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida as they were each doing their part promoting the June 6 pay-per-view on Showtime.

The controversial YouTuber Paul proclaimed “gotcha hat” as he stole Mayweather’s headgear and ran off as if it were a recess break in elementary school.

The Hall of Fame fighter and his bodyguards then chased after Paul. One of Mayweather’s bodyguards connected with a punch to the eye of Paul, the boxer with three professional bouts to his name said on social media following the incident.

The kerfuffle soon made its way into the bowels of the arena as the two exchanged expletives toward one another.

A perturbed Mayweather shouted "I'll kill you motherf-----" toward Paul several times soon after the bedlam broke out.

Once the histrionics calmed down, the 44-year-old Mayweather started shooting promotional footage for the fight.

"I don't have to talk about what I'm going to do. The world knows what I'm going to do," said Mayweather. "I'm willing to fight both in the same night."

Mayweather and Paul are both used to the hullabaloo that comes with their fights, and the promotion of this fight should undoubtedly resemble that.

"Logan Paul is huge on YouTube and he has a huge following. He's a big guy, strong guy. It's just fun. It's entertaining. It's all about entertainment and, of course, when he's on social media, he's entertaining to people all the time."

Minutes after the confrontation, Jake Paul said “I stole his hat because he steals people's money with boring fights … word on the street already is that Floyd is sending goons after me to try and kill me or hurt me ... if I die, I died for the hat.”

Soon afterward, Paul released a new cap on his website with the tagline “gotcha hat” for $25.
