Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Nicola Adams, 37-years-old, has no regrets about making her decision to retire from the sport.

Adams, who captured Olympic gold in 2012 at the games in London and then repeated her feat in 2016 at the games in Rio, stunned her fans when he decided to hang up her gloves for good in November of last year.

In her last ring outing, in September 2019, Adams (5-0-1, 3 KOs) fought to a ten round split draw with Maria Salinas.

Adams turned pro in April 2017 and captured the WBO's interim-title at flyweight in October 2018.

Adams revealed that she sustained a serious eye injury in her last pro bout, and the injury heavily influenced her decision to walk away from the ring.

Women's boxing is starting to gain a lot of momentum, with purse figures gradually rising and far more televised coverage being offered.

But Adams was never planning to have a long, drawn out career in the sport.

"It was something I was readying for at the time because I'd already been talking about what I was going to do next, but didn't expect it to happen so quickly," Adams told The Telegraph.

"But I'm very adaptable and I took a long time thinking about whether I would do. Ultimately though I was happy because I'd accomplished everything in boxing that I could."

With her in-ring career coming to an end, Adams is now looking ahead to other avenues in the next chapter of her life.

"At the moment I've been taking time out to spend time with the family and now I'm going to be doing more of the TV stuff, moving forward...which is exciting," Adams said.
