Nicola Adams picked up the second win in the pro ranks, this time by way of stoppage in the 3rd round over the game Maryan Salazar in front of her adoring home crowd at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Adams, who was boxing under four three-minute rounds, as opposed to the usual two minutes for women, looked completely in her comfort zone, going through the gears to take out the Mexican just 35 seconds into the third.

Salazar was game but ultimately out of her depth with Adams, who didn't let the occasion get to her as it did on her debut last month where she rushed and tried too much to please the baying crowd.

This time 'The Lioness' roared on by her hometown crowd, took her time, boxed within herself and took the opportunity when it was presented to her.

The double Olympic gold medallist won the battle of the jabs in the first round and then seemingly couldn't miss with the right hand in particular.

She pressed the advantage further in the second, snapping Salazar's head back with some solid shots. The Mexican did well to survive in fairness to her.

She wasn't so lucky in the third, as Adams unleashed her fury on her instantly, bloodying her and savaging her on the ropes, giving referee Howard Foster no choice but to step in and stop the contest.

It's onwards and upwards for Adams, who really looked the real deal tonight.
