After returning to home of Panama, trainer Celso Chavez, who handles former world champion Nicholas Walters (26-0-1, 21KOs) expressed his frustrations over the verdict of the judges in the twelve round decision draw from this past weekend against Jason Sosa in their HBO televised contest, which took place at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

The majority of the observers at ringside had Walters listed as the winner, but the offiical judges disagreed. One judge scored the contest 96-94 in favor of Sosa and the other two had it 95-95.

"What they did to Nicholas, it was a brazen robbery. If anything Sosa won a single round and maybe two others were even," Chavez said.

It was Walters debut fight at super featherweight and an obvious setback to make at statement at the new weight. Walters' last fight was also without the necessary fireworks when he fought puncher Miguel Marriaga and boxed to a twelve round decision.

Prior to that contest with Marriaga, Walters was stripped of the WBA featherweight title for failing to make the limit of 126-pounds. That incident forced his hand to move up in weight to pursue other world title opportunities.
