MMA veteran Francis Ngannou is willing to sit on the boxing sidelines to wait for Tyson Fury to have his undisputed showdown with unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Last month, Ngannou pushed Fury to the limit in their crossover boxing clash in Saudi Arabia.

Fury was dropped by a hard left hand in the third round, and then he took more punishment than expected in winning a close ten round split decision. Fury's left eye was bruised and his forehead suffered a cut from an Ngannou uppercut.

Ngannou strongly feels that he was robbed of an upset win.

Because of his physical the fight became, Fury's fight with Usyk - originally targeted for December 23 - was pushed back to early 2024.

"I would be willing to wait [for Fury to fight Usyk]. I know that they are going to fight, they had a contract already, so they are going to fight sometime in February instead of December 23, which is my fault," Ngannou said to TMZ Sports ... "I shouldn't have cut him. He would've fought December 23, and maybe we would've run it back early next year."

Eddie Hearn, promoter for former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, would love to match his man against Ngannou in December.

However, Ngannou will not be ready to fight until next year - and his current boxing focus in a rematch with Fury.

"First of all, it's too soon. Secondly, my focus, as boxing is concerned, is a rematch with Tyson. That's the most important thing for me right now, everything else for boxing comes after," Ngannou said.

Ngannou, who signed on with MMA organization PFL earlier this year, is hoping to return to the cage in 2024. He's been out of MMA since early 2022, when he was heavyweight champion of the UFC. He parted ways with UFC late last year.
