EBU cruiser champ Yves Ngabu, 20-0, retained the title with points win over Danish challenger Micki Nielsen, 25-2, in Roselaere, Belgium, reports knock-out.dk. After twelve it was scored 117-111 twice and 117-112 in favour of the Belgan champion.

Nielsen put up a brave performance but Ngabu was too sharp for him. Nielsen was shaken in the fifth but never went down.

In Herstal, also in Belgium, EBU lightweight champ Francisco Patera, 21-3, retained the title with a unanimous decision over Frenchman Marvin Petit, 24-2-1.

Super welterweight prospect Abass Baraou, 5-0, beat former world champ Carlos Molina, 29-11-2, and won the vacant WBC Int´l title with a unanimous decision after twelve. It was scored 115-112 twice and a too wide 118-109. Molina had a point deducted in the tenth for dangerous use of his head.

Early on it looked as of Molina would be too much for the young German but in the fifth Barou used his reach, speed and fine left hand and pulled ahead on points with Molina coming on strong at the end and he  scored with a good right uppercut but it was too little too late.

Light heavyweight prospect Leon Bunn, 13-0, outscored Viktor Polyakov, 13-6-1, over ten. It was scored 98-92 twice and 97-93 - a scoring that looked a bit generous to the winner as Polyakov made him work hard and showed a dangerous left hook and in fact looked like he was on his way to upset win after six.

But Bunn upped the pace, kept his distance and moved better and that made the difference as he again won rounds and pulled ahead for a close win after a good fight.
