This past Saturday in Tijuana, MX, cruiserweight Muhsin "The Spartan" Cason (4-0, 2 KOs), and heavyweight Jonnie Rice (10-3, 6 KOs), both who are managed by Prince Ranch Boxing's Greg Hannley, scored knockout victories in their scheduled 4-round bouts.

Cason, the younger brother of former two-time heavyweight world champion, Hasim Rahman, controlled the action from the opening bell by using his jab. He ended his bout with a straight left to the body.

"This was my first time fighting in Mexico and I got the knockout," said Muhsin Cason, a former D-1 athlete who played wide receiver at Maryland. "I'm looking to get right back in the ring, hopefully in February. I want to stay busy this year and climb up the rankings.

Rice, who is trained by former world champion, Wayne McCullough, landed a powerful right cross to the head of his opponent, stopping him in the middle of the 2nd round. Rice dictated the pace the entire bout.

"This was my 3rd fight with Wayne and I can see the difference in my performances," said Rice. "My goal is to keep improving and getting better. I'm confident I can march up these rankings and land a big fight. I'll be back in the gym this week."

"Cason and Rice are both making strides to becoming better fighters," said Greg Hannley of Prince Ranch Boxing. "With more experience under their belt, they can become a force in their respected divisions. I have plans to keep them both busy this year."

MTK Global is delighted to confirm the signing of Pakistani boxing hero Muhammad Waseem.

Flyweight ‘Falcon’ has followed up two medals at the Commonwealth Games as an amateur by excelling since turning professional in 2015 and was only narrowly denied a world title in his ninth fight when outpointed by IBF champion Moruti Mthalane.

As he prepares to make a second assault on the summit of the sport, Waseem is delighted to have signed with the boxing world’s leading management company.

Waseem said: “I’m very excited to be signing for MTK Global. They are one of the best companies in boxing and they do a great job with their fighters.

“I had meetings with MTK Global and they are good people. Hopefully I’m going to fight for a world title soon – hopefully I’ll win it either this year or next year.

“I’m proud to represent the people of Pakistan. I won medals as an amateur so many people know me there. When I win the world title, it will be for my country and I’m excited to do that.

“I’d like a rematch with Mthalane eventually but I’ll leave that up to MTK Global. We’ll discuss what we will do but the goal is clear – I want to become a world champion for myself, for them and for my country.”

MTK Global International Consultant Mike Altamura said: “I’m really excited to sign Muhammad and break into a new market in Pakistan. He’s a world-class talent.

“I’m very confident that with regular activity, he has all the ability to win a world championship in the next 18 months.

“He’s a real gentleman and it’s great to be working with someone with his attitude. I believe he’s a great representative for his people.”

News of Waseem’s first task as an MTK Global fighter will be announced in due course.

The leading light of Dutch boxing Serginio Kanters is ready to become a middleweight king after signing with MTK Global.

'Gino' has already impressed on British TV in recent bouts with the highly-rated Kieron Conway and Dmytro Mytrofanov and will now look to blaze a trail in professional boxing having already been a world champion kickboxer.

Kanters said: “It’s a pleasure to be part of a team that’s already so big. I’m sure they can put me on big stages.

“I hope to fight on MTK Global shows. I want to build up my record and then take on the big names as soon as possible because I’ve fought some before as the away fighter and more than held my own.

“I did kickboxing all my early life and loved it. I was more of a power-puncher though – I always used my hands and someone told me to try boxing. It worked for me and it’s going well so far.

“I aim to be the best. I’m focusing on the middleweight class and I hope to dominate there. Then I want to elevate to super-middleweight and maybe light-heavyweight. They are big dreams but I believe I can get there with hard work.”

New trainer Adam Hart added: “His record of 5-2-1 is misleading. He’s a former world kickboxing champion and he’s like a mini-Mike Tyson who’ll bring excitement and something new to the game.

“He’ll be a middleweight and there are loads of fights out there for him. If we can get him to 10-2 by the end of the year then we’ve got something. I don’t know what it is, but we’ve got something.

“I believe I can make him a more rounded fighter and help his progress so time will tell. I’m excited to be coaching him.”

News of Kanters’ first fight under the MTK Global umbrella will be announced shortly.

Akeem Ennis Brown will defend his IBF European super-lightweight title against Bilal Rehman at the Vale Sports Arena in Cardiff on March 1, live on iFL TV.

Brown (12-0) won the belt in December when he defeated Darragh Foley at York Hall, while he has also picked up impressive wins over Glenn Foot and Chris Jenkins during his career.

He now takes on fellow undefeated fighter Rehman (12-0), and Brown is excited to be returning to the ring on a packed MTK Global show.

Brown said: “It’s my first time fighting in Cardiff and I can’t wait for that. Competing on these MTK shows is great and they’ve delivered with everything they’ve said so far.

“They’re a team who are behind me and believe in me, so I trust them to do their part and it’s now going to be good to fight in front of a nice lively crowd.

“I’m looking forward to being back so quickly after the last fight as I like to keep the momentum going and I like having meaningful fights as it brings the best out of me.

“We have two undefeated fighters with silky nice skills who are both 12-0 going in there and putting it all on the line, so I can’t wait.”

Other fights on the bill include Jacob Robinson vs. Jonny Phillips, while the likes of Jacob Lovell, Alex Hughes, Rhys Edwards and Maredudd Thomas are set to feature on the undercard too.
