Latvia’s dangerous Ricards Bolotniks will compete in the light-heavyweight #GoldenContract.

The 29-year-old Bolotniks is ranked 24th in the world by boxrec.com and will take his place in the quarter-finals of the competition on December 14 at the Brentwood Centre; live on Sky Sports in the UK in association with Matchroom Boxing and on ESPN+ in the US in association with Top Rank.

Bolotniks, who has fought the likes of Thabiso Mchunu and won the Eurasian Boxing Parliament title with a whitewash win over the previously undefeated Sergei Ekimov last time out, is understandably brimming with confidence.

Bolotniks said: “I am very happy to participate in such a big event and glad that such a major company as MTK Global gives boxers like me the opportunity to show what they are capable of.

“Every victory brings a possibility to grow and is very important to me. Victory in this tournament is an opportunity to make a worldwide statement. It’s a chance to earn the biggest fights in the future and reach the very top.

“I don’t know much about my future opponents yet but I have eight weeks to study them. I am sure I will soon know more about them than they know about themselves!

“I will show the UK fans some spectacular boxing. I am coming to win the tournament. UK fans are well known around the world for their passion, energy and support, I will try to earn their love and respect!”

Mikey Sakyi will take on Kieran Gething in the reserve fight for the super-lightweight edition of the #GoldenContract tournament.

Mikey Sakyi faces Kieran Gething in the #GoldenContract reserve fight

Some of the best 140lb fighters in the world will head to York Hall for the event on November 22, live on Sky Sports in association with Matchroom Boxing, in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank, with the undercard live on iFL TV.

Should one of the eight confirmed entrants for the event be unable to compete, a coin toss will be held to decide whether Sakyi or Gething is handed the life-changing opportunity.

Former Southern Area champion Sakyi (8-2, 4 KOs) was originally due to take on Lewis Benson in the reserve fight, with Benson now involved in the main tournament after he replaced Akeem Ennis Brown.

It means Welsh star Gething (9-2-1, 2 KOs) will now step in to take on Sakyi, and both men are extremely excited about the opportunity.

Sakyi said: "I'm very pleased to have a replacement as I'm itching to get out again and put on a great performance.

"I've not seen much of Kieran Gething and I'm not too fussed about what the fight turns out to be as I've been in with all different types of fighters now so nothing fazes me in the ring.

"It doesn’t even enter my head about who would have been tougher out of him or Lewis Benson. I'm here to do a job and as long as I focus on my development, I’ll keep winning."

Gething said: "I'm absolutely over the moon. As soon as the tournament was announced I said I wanted to be a part of it and and now I've been given this great opportunity.

"I truly believe this is where you'll see me at my best. I think it’s not just down to motivation, it’s down to being in the right atmosphere and something like this will be the making of my career.

"I’ve Sakyi a couple of times. We're both Area Champions, and with his style and mine I think we could have a really great fight."

Next month's Golden Contract event features some of the world's elite at 140lbs, as Ohara Davies, Tyrone McKenna, Zhankosh Turarov, Lewis Benson, Anthony Yigit, Mohamed Mimoune, Darren Surtees and Logan Yoon take part in the exciting tournament.

LENNOX CLARKE IS promising to 'steamroller' Lerrone Richards when the pair meet at Arena, Birmingham on November 30 with the British and Commonwealth titles at stake.

The unbeaten super middleweight from Halesowen knows that Richards, who holds a perfect record, prefers to turn boxing into an art form and picks his shots with mesmeric precision.

The Commonwealth champion has, however, been accused in some quarters of occasionally enjoying his own work a little too much during fights, preferring to dominate opponents over the distance instead of making a statement with an early finish.

Clarke insists he will be afforded no such luxury when he ventures onto enemy territory at the end of November.

"He is not going to enjoy it with me," growled the 28-year-old. "He is not going to be able to because I know what he is going to bring. He is a boxer who tends to frustrate a lot of opponents with his movement, but I am prepared for everything he is going to come with.

"I will bring my A-game and I believe I am going to get the win.

"Lerrone is a boxer-mover and not a puncher. I am going to steamroller him and bring it to him, that is what our game plan is.

"I can't let him do what he needs to do because he is very good at that. He is a very good fighter and our job is to stop him being good."

Clarke has had to bide his time when it comes to competing for major domestic titles and was originally left in the waiting room following his nomination to challenge for the English title against Darryll Williams in a fight that never happened.

He now gets to fight for a bigger prize and he views it as a perfect storm with the opportunity coming on a show in his home city in front of his band of followers.

"Yeah I've had setbacks but this is what is going to bring me back on to the big stage now. I'm ready, I'm more than ready and I've been ready for a few years.

"Things happened with dates against Williams and then last time I pulled out because I wasn't well. It was just one of those things that wasn't meant to be, but I was fully confident in smashing him up. He would have been an easier fight than Lerrone.

"The first perfect scenario now is me knocking him out in the first round, which would be perfect.

"This is the biggest stage I will have been on, it is in my home city and for the biggest titles I've challenged for," added Clarke, who rejects the notion that boxing in Birmingham is a tough sell for boxing and says his fans will come out in numbers on the night.

"My fans will, one hundred per cent. I do well and that is why we are boxing up here because Lerrone couldn't sell out a phone box in London. This is why he is boxing up here because I've got a lot of followers."

Lerrone Richards v Lennox Clarke for the Commonwealth and vacant British super middleweight belts features on a stacked night of title action at Arena, Birmingham on November 30. WBO world bantamweight champion Zolani Tete defends his title against mandatory challenger John Riel Casimero, British super featherweight champion Sam Bowen defends his belt against Anthony Cacace and British and Commonwealth welterweight champion Chris Jenkins makes a defence against Liam Taylor.

Sam Maxwell defends his WBO European super lightweight title against the also unbeaten Connor Parker from Derbyshire, while Hamzah Sheeraz gets his first title fight.

Thrilling prospects Dennis McCann, Shabaz Masoud, Eithan James and George Davey also feature on the bill, along with talents from the local region in Nathan Heaney and River Wilson-Bent.

Sampson Boxing proudly announces the signing of Mexican super lightweight contender German Rodolfo “Sinaloita” Orozco to a promotional contract.

20-year-old Orozco (24-2-3, 17 KOs) hails from Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico. He turned professional shortly before his 16th birthday and has fought exclusively in his homeland to this point in his career. Orozco is 9-0-1 in his last 10 fights and holds a shutout unanimous decision over former world-title challenger Cosme Rivera in July of this year. In his most recent ring appearance he scored a seventh-round stoppage over popular Mexican contender Nery Saguilan two weeks ago.

“I am honored to have signed with a promoter who has helped so many Mexican fighters become champions,” said Orozco. “I am looking forward to fighting in the United States against the best challengers. I will be world champion one day.”

Orozco’s manager, Javier Landeros, says he’s been waiting patiently for his young prospect to strengthen and mature before bringing him to Lewkowicz.

“We knew we were going to sign with Sampson as the promoter and Fernando Dominguez as the agent from the start,” said Landeros. “German has grown into a strong and talented fighter who is ready for the challenges he needs to become a contender and champion. I trust Sampson to help guide us to big fights internationally, where he can show the world the newest talent from Mexico.”

Lewkowicz says he’s eager to get Orozco fighting in the US and building his name as a prospect to watch next year.

“Sinaloita Orozco is a very talented boxer with great potential and his manager Javier Landeros and Fernando Dominguez are good and honest men who care very much for their fighters,” said Lewkowicz. “I look forward to bringing this young prospect to the United States where he can start his climb to the world-class. They are a good team and I’m happy to be working with them.”
