Undefeated super lightweight prospect, Justin "The Stallion" Cardona (3-0, 2 KOs), who hails from Salinas, CA, will be making his Staples Center debut this Saturday, September 28, 2019, on the Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter card. Cardona is excited about fighting on the big stage as he gives his thoughts on his upcoming four-round bout against Archie Weah (3-13, 1 KO).

"It's always been a dream of mine to fight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles" said Cardona, who is trained by Ruben Guerrero Sr., father of multiple division world champion, Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero. "As a kid growing up, I remember all the big fights that happened there with guys like Sugar Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya. For this to be a reality now is unbelievable. I'm very grateful for this opportunity and I'm going to give the fans a very memorable performance."

In preparation for this fight, Cardona spent camp with Robert Guerrero in Las Vegas, getting world class sparring with some of the best fighters in boxing. Cardona feels he's more prepared going into this fight then any other in his career.

"Training in Las Vegas was a new, but exciting experience for me," Cardona continued. "I learned a lot about how to take care of my body and what it takes to get to the championship level. This training camp was no joke. The sparring I got was incredible and the high-altitude training was grueling. The Guerrero family has been a tremendous blessing to my career, and everyone will see me at my best come fight night."

"Justin works very hard in the gym and he's learning what it takes to be a good pro in boxing," said Ruben Guerrero, who's been training Cardona since he turned pro. "This was his first camp in Las Vegas and he now knows what it takes to become a world champion. I see a bright future for this kid and he has all the tools to go to the top"

Fans at Caesars Palace will have the chance to watch the undefeated Jack Catterall ‘El Gato’ (24-0, 13 KOs) collide with high-class German Schwarzkopf (20-3, 12 KOs) at #RotundaRumble2 – promoted by MTK Global and Ahmed A.Seddiqi’s Round 10 Boxing Club and broadcast in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank.

With his dream world title shot likely to take place next year should he overcome Schwarzkopf, Catterall is eager to serve up a reminder of what makes him one of the very best 140lb fighters on earth.

Catterall said: “This is great news. I’m pleased to have something to aim for and what gives me that extra motivation is that this is a serious opponent with big-time hopes and dreams of his own.

“Unfortunately for Schwarzkopf, I don’t think he has what it takes to stop me from going where I’m going, which is that world title shot early next year. He’s the perfect step up for me.

“Everyone knows how badly I want that world title shot and how hard I’ve worked for it. I can almost touch it now and there’s no way I’m going to take my eye off the ball with someone as dangerous as Schwarzkopf standing in my way.

“I’m going to make an example of him. It’s my chance to send another message to the 140lb world champions. None of them should be getting comfortable because once I win one of the world title belts, I’m coming for the others.

“I can’t wait to fight in Dubai as well. I’ve watched the shows MTK Global have been putting on there and it’s an upcoming and exciting place to box. It’s very much a global sport these days and I’m looking forward to showing a new audience what I can do.”

MTK Global Professional Development Coordinator Jamie Conlan said: “This is a great opportunity for Jack, who everyone knows is already a world-class fighter and has been for some years.

“It’s also a great opportunity for the people of Dubai to come and see such a star in a high-level match-up – and of course, there’ll be plenty of people tuning in in both America and around the world to see what kind of threat Jack poses to the elite at 140lb.”

Catterall’s promoter Frank Warren of Queesnberry Promotions added: “It’s important we keep Jack busy while we wait for the outcome of Jose Ramirez vs. Viktor Postol.

“Jack is more than deserving of his world title shot, for two belts no less, but Timo is a solid opponent and there will be no room for mistakes come November 22.”

Chorley’s Catterall, who has held the WBO Inter-Continental title since March 2015, was last in action in April when he served up a devastating third-round stoppage of Oscar Amador.

Reagan Dessaix continued to show why he is far beyond his years as he dispatched of Aaron Lai in the fourth round of their OBPF Light Heavyweight title fight at the Paddo Rugby League Club, Paddington last weekend.

Dessaix competed in his third title fight of the calendar year, with his only loss coming in extremely controversial fashion on away soil to former world champion Blake Caparello.

Since the Caparello fight, the 23-year-old Dessaix has won back to back titles via stoppage victory and 'The President' discussed his latest victory.

Dessaix said, "Firstly I would like to thank my manager Tony Tolj for getting me this opportunity and once again progressing me up the rankings in various governing bodies which was my goal for the year. I want to be a world champion so my focus has been to push up the world ratings and Tony has really done his best to make that happen.

"I was happy with my performance and happy to get another stoppage victory against a strong opponent. It was nice to pick up another prestigious title and hopefully, this opens me up for some more big fights in the latter end of the year/early 2020."

Dessaix has already made waves in the professional ranks for someone who still falls under the 'youth' category with all of the world's governing bodies. The Queensland native opened up on what he foresees for himself in the latter stages of the year and into 2020.

He said, "I want to continue progressing up the world rankings but I firmly believe I am ready for big fights. I proved that against Caparello and I would love that rematch but I don't see it happening.

"I want to win more titles and want those big fights. I'd love to go and box abroad, somewhere like the United States or Europe and challenge myself against the best, I believe that is the natural next step and I believe I have the team to take me there"

The Liverpool hero is one of eight world-level stars competing in the groundbreaking Golden Contract featherweight tournament at York Hall on October 4, live on Sky Sports in association with Matchroom Boxing and on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank.

The incredible tournament has gripped the imagination of the public, with one of the reasons being due to the unique nature of not knowing your opponent until fight week.

That might not be ideal for some fighters, but Jazza Dickens (27-3, 11 KOs) prefers it that way, and feels that will give him the edge over some of his featherweight rivals.

Dickens said: “Not knowing the opponent suits me perfect. I don’t watch opponents so it just takes away their advantage if anything. I’m focused on the job. If there’s an easy fight between anyone else I’ll be surprised. I can’t talk for everyone but I assume we’re all 110%.

“I’ve been very active of late and I’m training with no worries. I’m stronger than ever before and my sparring partners have been great. There’s been no stone unturned physically, nutritionally, and mentally, plus my rest and visualisation have been spot on.

“It’s great to fight on both ESPN+ and Sky Sports again. I’ve won championship belts on both of those networks, and the world will see the best version of Jazza in this fight. I’ve got a solid team and it’s nice to give back.”
