Undefeated hometown welterweight Jacob Bonas will return to action tomorrow night (Friday, November 22) at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino-Hotel against Jefferson City, Missouri’s Noah Kidd.

Bonas (4-0-1, 2 KOs) and Kidd (4-2-1, 3 KOs) will collide in a four-round supporting bout at promoter Carlos Llinas' latest “Night of Knockouts” installment, topped by Detroit’s Taylor Duerr (9-0-2, 7 KOs) taking on Neller Obregon (13-2-1, 8 KOs) for the Junior NABF Light Heavyweight Championship.

26-year-old Bonas is one of the last of the young fighters trained by the late, great Emanuel Steward, who considered him a prodigy. Bonas was National Ringside Champion and went 45-5 as an amateur. The talented Bonas remains a beloved figure in the Romanian community of Detroit. He was last seen scoring a dominant four-round decision over Indiana’s Norfleet Stitts on October 5.

“This fight is very exciting for me because so many Romanians will be there,” said Bonas. “I feel blessed to get so much support from my people. It’s amazing how fast I’m progressing and how fast amazing things are happening for me. Boxing fans can expect to see pure, raw, technical boxing tomorrow night.”

Earlier this Fall, Bonas signed with Detroit-based promoter Dmitriy Salita, who often sings the praises of his popular prospect.

“Jacob is one of the best young prospects in all of boxing,” said Salita. “He is one of the very few young, undefeated fighters who has experienced training at the original Kronk. Now under trainer Sugar Hill Steward at the new Kronk Gym, I believe Jacob has the ability to reach a very high level and I am excited about his development every step of the way.”

Tickets for “Night of Knockouts” are available at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sound Board box office inside the MotorCity Casino-Hotel. On fight night, doors open Friday night at 6:30 pm with the first bout at 7 pm.

Prodigy twins, Angel and Chavez Barrientes, both 17-years old, will make their professional debuts this Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico.

Both Angel and Chavez will be debuting at the bantamweight division, as combined the two have won 25 nationals in the amateurs and are looking to duplicate that success in the pros.

"I am excited to make my professional debut, especially with my brother the card, and my father, who is my trainer will be there with me," said Angel Barrientes, who goes by the nickname AK-47 and never lost an amateur tournament, winning all fourteen that he entered. "I want to show that I got what it takes to be a great professional boxer."

Both Barrientes brothers are trained by their Richard Barrientes.

"They have both worked extremely hard, and with all they have accomplished in the amateurs, we're excited to get rolling in the pros." said Richard Barrientes.

"I am very motivated, I have a great team with my brother, father, family, as well as Bob Santos and Luis DeCubas Jr. helping guide my career as well," said Chavez "The Beast" Barrientes. "I know I have the talent to be a world champion, now it is just time to show it."

"It is rare you find fighters who have only a handful of amateur losses with nearly a hundred wins, let alone two of them who are brothers," said Bob Santos, who will be guiding their career along with Luis DeCubas Jr. "It is exciting to see them develop in the pros since they're really good."
