Fast hands, swift feet, quick minds and thunderous power will prevail when the opening bell rings at the 2010 National Silver Gloves Amateur Boxing Tournament in Independence, Missouri.  The three-day event will run from February 4th - February 6th and will match-up the top 350, 10-15 year old amateur boxers in the country.  The result is unparalleled competition that showcases the sport’s best young athletes from across the nation.  

The action will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, 19677 E. Jackson Drive, in Independence, and it will require three rings and four sessions to crown the 70, 2010 National Champions.  The bouts begin at 6:00 p.m. on the February 4th; at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on February 5th; and the finals will begin at 3:00 p.m. on February 6th.

The tournament has been the proving grounds for many of today’s top personalities in the sport of boxing.  There are numerous Olympic and world champions who utilize the discipline and dedication that the Silver Gloves Program instills to propel them to Olympic and world title contention.

This year’s competition will commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the program’s inception, which provides the youth of America with a unique opportunity for personal growth.  The 2010 National Silver Gloves Tournament will, once again, set the pace for a new year of amateur boxing.
