Nate Campbell joins forces with Don King Productions

With his mind still set towards capturing a world title, Nate ‘The Galaxxy Warrior’ Campbell has singed on with Don King Productions with a promising three year deal. Campbell is one of the world’s premier Lightweights and the Jacksonville, Florida native feels this new deal will help him land the fights that have been eluding him.

‘Signing on with Don is a big thing,’ Campbell said recently. ‘Don has the ability to help me land the fights that I haven’t been able to get because he has the cash to make it happen. I feel that we’re going to make some major moves together.’

Campbell has been the IBF’s #1 ranked Lightweight for over six months, having won eliminators against both Matt ‘Boom Boom’ Zegan and most recently Ricky Quiles in early March, but for whatever reasons he has been unable to lure defending champion Julio Diaz into a fight. Campbell remains optimistic.

‘I’m just going to let Don do his job and go from there,’ Campbell said. ‘I would prefer to fight Julio Diaz but I also told Don that I want the quickest path to the title, whoever it be.’

For various reasons, Campbell feels secure with King on his side and optimistic towards what the future holds.

‘I’ve heard people say both good and bad about Don but the main thing is that he makes fights happen,’ Campbell said. ‘I’ve been around this fight game too long to just judge a situation off of what people say anyways. Plus it’s not as if we came to terms on a handshake agreement, I have a contract in writing and I’m just ready to go.’

Campbell also stated that he has a fight coming up July 6th against an opponent yet to be determined and also mentioned he will possibly be in training camp alongside Bernard ‘The Executioner’ Hopkins, who is under the guidance of Campbell’s trainer John David Jackson as he gets ready for his looming showdown with Winky Wright.
