Tampa, FL. - IBF #1 mandatory challenger Nate "The Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell has been pulled from the October 13 HBO card featuring a lightweight title unification bout between WBA/WBO Champion Juan Diaz vs. IBF Champion Julio Diaz, with the winner most likely facing Campbell in their next bout. Campbell was originally scheduled to face Humberto Toledo (31-4) in a "stay busy" fight, with his sights set on facing the Diaz-Diaz winner in February or March of next year.

The combination of Toledo's visa status not permitting him to fight, along with a slight rib bruise Campbell received in sparring last week was enough for co-promoter Terry Trekas of One Punch Productions to pull the plug on the bout. "I spoke to Dana Jamison over at King's office (Campbell is promoted by Don King Productions) and we were in total agreement that with everything that occurred, it just didn't make sense to try and find someone else to replace Toledo at this point.

Guys aren't exactly falling all over themselves to fight Nate in the first place, and especially on 10 days notice, and I wasn't going to put Nate in with a 12-31 guy or anything at this stage of his career just to stay busy", said Trekas. Campbell will still be in attendance at the Diaz vs. Diaz bout as an interested spectator. A VERY interested spectator.
