Omar Narvaez (22-0-2, 15 KOs) decisioned Rexon Flores (16-3-1, 9 KOs), from the Philippines, retaining his WBO flyweight belt for the 8th time.

It was a unanimous decision in front of 9.000 people at Orfeo Stadium of Cordoba, the city Narvaez adopted as his own. He was born at Trelew, Chubut in the Argentinean Patagonia.

Referee Sam Viruet deducted 2 points from Flores: in the fourth for low blows and in the 7th for headbutts.

The score cards: Omar Quijada (Panamá) and Daniel Fucs (Brazil) both had it 119-109 and Alejandro López (México) scored the contest 120-108, all for Narváez.

It was a very bad fight; it was not even a fight. It was a challenger without any idea or talent, looking for his opponent with only one or two boxing lessons. Using his head all the time and throwing punches like a mad windmill, it’s very hard to believe that Rexon Flores could be the number one contender in the WBO rankings.

Narvaez, more careful about the head of Flores than his blows, argued all 12 rounds with the referee: it was like the champion was only looking for a fast disqualification victory.

When Narvaez threw punches, he hit easily Flores, but it was only in rare occasions. If any of your friends offer you the video for watch the fight, think it can be very useful in a case or insomnia; in any other case, think twice about the loyalty of your friend.

Narváez is looking for a unification fight against IBF champion Vic Darchinyan. It was his worst fight, but he was only 50% responsible. It’s difficult to fight with a boxer with three heads and a lot of elbows. It was the first world title fight Narvaez staged in Cordoba.
