BELL, CALIF. --- Juan Manuel Marquez spent the early part of his career fighting at The Forum.

He was one of Forum Boxing's breakout stars in the 1990s along with Marco Antonio Barrera and Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson just to name a few.

Marquez returns to the site where layed the ground work a for a future Hall of Fame career when he takes on Mike Alvarado on Saturday night at The Forum on HBO.

"Yes, it's definitely a great feeling coming back to The Forum, especially, because he had a dream career at The Forum," Marquez's legendary trainer Nacho Beristain said at Azteca Boxing Club. "And now that he's able to come back he's able to say thank you to all the fans and everybody that's supported him. Good things happen for him at The Forum and he wants to give everybody a great fight."

Marquez went 12-0 with 9 KOs in his fights at The Forum from 1995-99.

"There were a lot of fights that I remember that were spectacular for Marquez and exciting that brought the fans off their seats," Beristain said. "But there's one particular fight, (Celestino) Becerra. I remember him. That was a great fight. There was an Olympian (Julian Wheeler). I don't remember his name. That's a fight I remember that was really exciting. Overall, a lot of big fights there, so to pick one is tough."
