IF Andy Murray needs some expert advice on knocking out the opposition in Sunday night’s Open final, he may not have far to look. Providing he has been allowed into Australia by then, WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr will be in the boxing fan’s corner.

Mayweather’s Australian publicist Max Markson is still waiting for confirmation of the pound-for-pound king being granted a visa to enter Australia to appear on a series of talk shows in Melbourne and Sydney next week.

If the visa comes through, Mayweather is expected to arrive in Melbourne on Sunday, a few hours before the tennis final.

“Andy has invited him to be a guest in the players’ box and Floyd has accepted,” Markson said.
