The heavyweight debut of former cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev, 26-years-old, has once again been pushed back. He was set to face American contender Jerry Forrest, scheduled for February 29 in the United States, as part of the Mikey Garcia and Jessie Vargas undercard.

"The fight will not take place. There are many questions regarding the fact that Murat was not ready as he should be, and the fact that there were questions regarding the contract," the source said to tass.

Gassiev's heavyweight debut has been postponed in the past. Previously, the athlete was prevented from fighting due to injuries.

The former World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) cruiserweight champion has a record of 26 victories (19 by knockout) and one defeat. On account of the 31-year-old Forrest is a record of 26 victories (20 by KO) and three defeats.

IN OTHER NEWS: In a sound upset, former super featherweight world title challenger Andrey Klimov from Klimovsk, Russia, was stopped in two by totally unheralded Moscow Armenian Arkadi Harutyunyan (4-8, 1 KO) on Wednesday, February 12, at the Corston Hotel in Moscow, Russia. That was the soundest result of a big card, promoted by Shamir Petrosyan.

Klimov is 1-5 in his last six fights. This losing streak started with a one-sided unanimous decision loss to Jose Pedraza for a vacant IBF 130lb title in June 2015 and continued as a downward spiral with losses to Liam Walsh, Alejandro Luna and Fabian Andres Maidana.

The start of Klimov’s career was much more promising with sixteen consecutive wins (including those over 18-1-1 Ty Barnett, 29-1 Matias Ezequiel Gomez and 25-2 John Molina Jr.) before running into 21-0 Terence Crawford. Interestingly, all five previous losses for Klimov (20-6, 10 KOs) were to undefeated fighters with a combined record of 96-0.

IBF #9 cruiserweight Yuri Kashinskiy (19-1, 17 KOs) erased bad memories of his loss to Ruslan Fayfer with the fourth-round stoppage of Argentinean Cesar David Crenz (23-15, 13 KOs), who suffered his fourth consecutive kayo loss.

Also, light welterweight Valery Ogannesyan (2-0, 2 KOs) got a short night with a two-round blowout of Uzbek import Bahrom Payozov (22-12, 15 KOs), who lost his ninth in a row.
