Zulina Munoz will defend her WBC World female junior bantamweight title tonight against Guadalupe Martinez Guzman.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Arena Oasis in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico and will air on beIN Sports en Espanol (11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT).

Munoz (48-1-2, with 28 KOs) has come a long way since making her pro debut at the age of 17 in March of 2005. One month before her 20th birthday, Munoz stepped in the ring against Alesia Graf in Germany, losing a close 10 round unanimous decision, the only defeat of her career.

Since the loss to Graf, Munoz is unbeaten in 34 fights. The Mexico City resident won the vacant WBC belt in December of 2012, defeating Maribel Ramirez by unanimous decision.

Tonight will mark the tenth defense of her title.

Munoz does not plan on slowing down as she is still an elite fighter and is extremely popular in Mexico.

Martinez Guzman (14-9, with 5 KOs), who has won seven of her last eight fights, last fought on February 4, defeating Guadalupe Solis by decision.

The Tlalnepantla, Mexico, Mexico resident has faced and lost decisions to Ava Knight, Naoko Shibata, Debora Anahi Dionicius.

In the co-feature of the Zanfer Promotions/ Cancun Boxing card, Abner Lopez (25-6, with 21 KOs) squares off against Ivan Alvarez (25-7, with 17 KOs) in a 10 round welterweight bout.

Both fighters have won their last two bouts after losing their previous two.

IN OTHER NEWS - Featherweight prospect Daniel Franco will return to the ring tonight against Francisco Suarez, trainer Al Franco told BoxingScene.com Friday night.

The eight round bout will take place at the Pueblo Hotel Amigo in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

Franco (15-1-3, with 10 KOs) suffered his first loss as a pro in his last bout on March 23, when he was knocked out by former fringe contender Christopher Martin. In his previous bout on November 10, Franco knocked out Derrick Murray in the fourth round.

The 25-year-old from Riverside, Calif. is still considered a top prospect in the featherweight division. He is signed by Roc Nation.

Franco, who is managed by Ray Chaparro, is scheduled to fight Jose Haro on June 10 at the WinnaVegas Casino and Resort in Sloan, Iowa.

Suarez (5-4-1, with 5 KOs), who resides in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico, has lost his last three bouts and is winless in his last four.
