The new date for the mandatory defense of the bantamweight world title of the World Boxing Association (WBA), which is held by Panama's Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno, will be on Friday September 26 in the city of Mesquite, Texas. "Chemito" Moreno will fight to Dominican Juan Carlos Payano, in what will be his 13th title defense.

Rouss Laguna Moreno, wife and manager of the global champion, said she received contracts with the new date and venue for the meeting. The fight is set to be held at the Mesquite Arena.

Originally the fight was scheduled for August 8 at the Console Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but given the short window of time, Moreno was unable to get a visa in a timely manner and the fight had to be postponed.

"Chemito" Moreno, 29, has a professional record of 35 wins (12 KO), two losses and one draw. For his part, Payano, 30, has a record of 15 wins and no defeats, including 8 knockouts.
