The super bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno, sent a clear message to all of his fans: "I still have that hunger that made me world champion."

Chemito wants to clear things up after numerous reports that he's not taking training camp serious. He's currently training hard at the Pedro Rockero Alcázar gym in Curundú with full awareness that he's training for another year, which begins with his eighth title defense.

"I love boxing, this is what I live and I like what I do," said the world champion, completed his training at 138 pounds.

"I still have the hunger of a world champion and I want to tell my fans to trust me. I'm on my eighth defense," he said. "I've always had a good preparation for each of my fights and will continue to do so."

Chemito does not want to disappoint his fans and promised a successful year in 2011.

"We are focused on training and do not want to disappoint my fans. I took some vacation time, but we're back, "said Chemito, as he drove off in a Honda Civic Sport.

He also took the opportunity to talk about his next fight, possibly against former champion Lorenzo Parra of Lencho, Venezuela.

The tentative date for the title fight is on Feb. 18 in Panama City.

"I hope that Parra comes in good condition. Whoever steps into the ring with the best fitness wins the fight and that will be me," he said.

"We were sparring with Rafael Torito Concepción and I feel good," he said.
