A little less than three weeks away, Guadalajara boxer Juan José "Goofy" Montes will go for the flyweight championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC), and he does not hesitate to confess his desire knock Tomas "Gusano" Rojas out. Rojas of Veracruz is the current owner of the green and gold belt at 115 pounds.

Accompanied by his representative, Hector Garcia (HG BOXING CEO), the charismatic "Goofy" Montes went to Tuxtla, Chiapas on Monday to promote his fight which is set for Saturday May 21. He then travels to Durango, where he plans to train with the team of Cristian Mijares, who defends his IBF super flyweigh title on the 14th of May at the Palenque de la Feria in Durango.

"Working alongside a champion like Mijares will undoubtedly bring benefits," he said.  "I do not like to talk much ... but I trust that I'll finish my opponent off quickly. There won't be a need for the scorecards."

With a record of 19 career victories, 17 by knockout, in exchange for a sole defeat, Juan José Montes has based his confidence on his the strength and the work already completed in the gym. However, he knows the knockout is no simple task as Rojas is a slick veteran, so Montes is studying numerous tapes to get himself famliar with the movements of the champion.
