Steve Molitor of Sarnia will have to wait for his chance at a world boxing title.

Molitor's scheduled IBF super-bantamweight title bout was cancelled yesterday when South African opponent Gabula Vabaza failed his pre-fight medical exam.

Molitor (22-0) and Vabaza (23-0-1), both southpaws, were to fight today for the vacant title.

Promoter Branco Milen-kovic gave no details of Vabaza's medical problem and there was no immediate word on whether the fight would be rescheduled.

The 26-year-old Molitor won the Commonwealth bantam-weight title from Nicky Booth in England in September 2002, but has fought sparingly since.
