Miskirtchian, Lock Set To Take It Outside In Coney Island

Boxing returns to MCU Park in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn for the first time since 2001 (when it originally opened as KeySpan Park), headlined by a featherweight crossroads bout between Alex Miskirtchian and Cornelius Lock.

Both fighters were within the contracted weight for their headlining bout, which is scheduled for 10 rounds. Miskirtchian weighed 127.2 lbs. for his stateside debut, while Lock checked in at 125.6 lbs. for his first fight in more than 15 months. 

The fight marks Miskirtchian's second since challenging for a featherweight title last year, coming up short versus then-unbeaten champ Evgeny Gradovich.

Another fighter on the show looking to punch his way back into contention is Junior Wright. The Chicagoland cruiserweight takes on Harvey Jolly in his first fight since suffering the lone loss of his career versus Rakhim Chakhkiev earlier this year. 

Wright weighed 198.8 lbs, while Jolly tipped the scales at 185.2 lbs. in their scheduled six round cruiserweight contest. 

Also gracing the undercard, Ireland's John Joe Nevin hits the ring for the first time since recovering from a brutal assault that left him with two broken legs last year. The two-time Olympian, who captured the Silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics, takes on Victor Raul Capaceta in a four-round lightweight clash.

Nevin checked in at 135.6 lbs; Capaceta (4-7-3) weighed 135.2 lbs.

The show will be streamed live on ESPN3.com, and is presented by Salita Promotions, headed by former super lightweight contender Dmitry Salita.
