The comeback for former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler is still on but will be delayed until March of 2018, reports BT. Kessler was in full training in August and was sparring with World Boxing Super Series participant Erik Skoglund but then it all became very quiet.

It turned out that the former champ had been hit by a case of borrelia and it took some time before this was diagnosed.

The ex-champ, out since 2013 and officially retired in 2015, is now under treatment and is expected to make full recovery but had to take time off from training. His comeback fight was never officially announced, but Team Sauerland hinted at a date in November but that is now off.

WBA # 1, WBC # 6, IBF # 11 and WBO # 3 super middleweight (and EBU # 9 light heavy) Patrick Nielsen, 29-2 but with only one fight in 22 months, suffered a crushing defeat against Brit John Ryder, 25-4, on Saturday night in London and may now face retirement at the age of 26.

He turned pro in 2009 and was early on compared with fellow Dane Mikkel Kessler but over the years he appear to fade out and while he kept winning he often fought as he wanted to be elsewhere

In 2014 he challenged then WBA interim champ Dmitry Chudinov but lost a decision. Exactly how Nielsen could be so highly ranked is a very good question with no good replies.

The Nordic Nightmare, Robert Helenius, 25-1, will after all put his WBC International Silver title on line against Dillian Whyte, 21-1, October 28 in Cardiff on Matchroom´s big show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The fight was reportedly almost on a few weeks ago when Helenius was sparring with Anthony Joshua but according to Helenius' manager Markus Sundman there never was an offer on the table until now - and with Robert in full training since after the summer break the answer was yes.
