Four division champion Mikey Garcia has given his take on the upcoming welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and late replacement Yordenis Ugas, who holds the WBA world title at 147-pounds.

Pacquiao was set to challenge Errol Spence for the WBC, IBF welterweight titles on August 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

However, it was revealed last week that Spence suffered an eye injury and was forced to withdraw from the fight.

Spence was replaced by Ugas, who was already scheduled to fight on the undercard.

"That's f----- up, it's sad," Garcia told FightHype.com.

"I mean, he was forced to pull out of the fight, that sucks, especially when it's only like two weeks away, a week away from the fight, that's terrible. You got all this camp going on, all this training and everything, and then to just not be able to fight, that sucks for Errol."

Pacquiao, 42, will fight for the first time in two years.

He last saw action in July of 2019, when he picked up a twelve round split decision over Keith Thurman.

Should Pacquiao win, he will break his own record for being the oldest boxer to capture a welterweight title.

Garcia does not view Ugas as an easy fight. He expects a competitive contest this weekend.

"Manny obviously was ready for the fight, they were able to salvage the show, and salvage the fight, and he's fighting Yordenis Ugas now," Garcia added.

"So it's a fight too, it's not an easy fight, I think it's a good fight, a good matchup. Not as big of a show with marketing and branding, obviously not many people probably as excited for that as they were for the fight against Errol, but still a good fight."
