Former four division world champion Mikey Garcia is still hunting for a world title in the welterweight division.

Garcia has captured belts at featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight - and now he wants a title at 147-pounds.

Back in 2019, Garcia failed in his attempt to capture the IBF welterweight title from Errol Spence, who walked away with a dominant twelve round unanimous decision.

He bounced back earlier this year with a solid decision win over former champion Jessie Vargas.

The opponent at the top of Garcia's list is WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao, who last saw action in July 2019 when he defeated Keith Thurman, is considering Garcia as a possible opponent before the year is out.

Garcia does not believe Pacquiao can present the same set of complications as Spence. At the same time, Garcia believes that he can replicate the in-ring traits of Juan Manuel Marquez, who gave Pacquiao the toughest fights of his career in their four-bout series.

"He doesn’t have the height and reach advantage like Errol, so I think that makes it a better fight for me. I know he’s going to engage and I know he’s going to fight hard. He’s a great fighter. He's a living legend, and I would love to add that to my resume. Fighting the great Manny Pacquiao would be tremendous for my legacy," Garcia told Fox Sports.

"If I'm capable of securing a victory over him and that definitely adds to what I want to accomplish with my legacy and those big triumphs. I’m excited if we can get that fight, that would be the best fight. I know there are other opportunities for him, there's other options that you mentioned like Keith Thurman, maybe Errol Spence or Danny Garcia. I'm sure all of these are big fights for Manny, but I would love the opportunity as well. It's a great fight, the fanbase would love that. I have a lot of fans and he’s obviously the biggest draw.

"So I think it would be a great fight. If I get that, I’m definitely taking care of business and I'm not gonna let this pass me by. I hope we secure that and look forward to it. I can fight really well. I feel that my boxing style can complicate things a lot for him similar to the way Marquez complicated things for Manny in all those fights."
