Filipino super bantamweight contender and WBO No. 2 “Magic” Mike Plania (26-1, 13 KOs) will be in his biggest career fight as he faces undefeated Ra’eese Aleem (19-0, 12 KOs) for the NABO super bantamweight title.

Their clash will be part of a Fox Sports 1 card, which is headlined by the heavyweight pay-per-view clash between Andy Ruiz and Luis Ortiz. The event takes place on September 4 in Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Plania is the more experienced fighter heading into the ring having faced the likes of Ricardo Nunez, Joshua Greer and Juan Carlos Payano which was his only career loss.

However, Aleem is a no pushover opponent having the bigger knockout rate on top of his unblemished record. A win for Plania will bring him closer to a shot at WBO/WBC super bantamweight unified champion Stephen Fulton.

Plania is in the final stages of his training with just less than a month before the fight.

"I really thank God for another big break in my career. It’s few steps away from my shot at a world title. I cannot afford to lose this and I am going all-out to win this fight," Plania said.

"Aleem is a technically superb fight. It will not be an easy fight. But I have the experience advantage. I have the hunger factor. I want the Philippines to have another world champion and after Apolinario it will again come from Sanman Stable. I can’t wait to step on the ring and get it on."
