Las Vegas, Nevada - Mexican boxing will be present on Saturday night at the Grand Garden Arena at the MGM, with Guadalajara's Miguel Vazquez defending the IBF lightweight world title against undefeated Lenny Zappavigna of Australia. The main event will have Miguel Angel Cotto defending his WBA junior middleweight title against Ricardo Mayorga. The fight will be carried by Showtime pay-per-view.

Vazquez wants to make a big statement to force unification encounters with the other champions at lightweight. He wants to box Lenny for a few rounds, and then he plans to break him down for the knockout victory.

"I'm ready to win. It is my second defense and my second fight in Las Vegas. I've seen videos of the Australian and I can see that he's strong and he likes to come forward. He's a puncher. First I'm going to box him, and then I'll go for it - the knockout. My plans are then to unify against the other champions Humberto Soto and Juan Manuel Marquez," Vazquez said.
