WBC super featherweight champion Miguel "El Alacran" Berchelt (35-1) is very excited to be getting back in the ring on Saturday.  He will defend his title for the 5th time versus the man he took the title from, Francisco "El Bandido" Vargas (25-1-2).  The fight headlines an ESPN doubleheader that takes place at the Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona.

The fight was originally scheduled for March 23rd but was postponed when Berchelt injured his right hand in training. He said that his hand is fully healed and he can't wait to get back in the ring.

"We are feeling really good.  The injury is healed and I am ready for Saturday," Berchelt stated.

The 27-year-old has fought most of his career in his native Mexico. He has also fought in Calfornia, Nevada and Texas.  This will be his first time fighting in Arizona and he is excited to be fighting close to the Nogales border.

"I am very happy to be fighting in Tucson.  A lot of people will be coming from Sonora to see me fight.  I train in Sonora so it makes it even nicer.  In Mexico we celebrate Mother's Day on May 10th and my mom will be able to see me fight which is very special to me," Berchelt stated in reference to his fight taking place over Mother's Day weekend.

The knockout artist has stopped 13 of his last 14 opponents and is promises another explosive performance on Saturday.

"Don't miss this fight.  Without a doubt the fans will be the real winner of this fight.  Whenever El Alacran Berchelt fights you know you will get a great show," Berchelt told BoxingScene.com.

The co-feature bout is also a rematch.  Emanuel Navarrete will defend his WBO super bantamweight title against Isaac Dogboe in a rematch of their December fight that Navarrete won by unanimous decision.
