Rising lightweight prospect Michel Rivera (18-0) believes that Ladarius Miller (21-1) is the perfect measuring test at this point in his young career. The two will collide on Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio on the Gervonta Davis-Leo Santa Cruz undercard.

This will be only the second fight of the year for Rivera who like many boxers has seen his activity reduced due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The 22-year-old, who is promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz and fights under the Premier Boxing Champions banner, believes that their styles will mesh perfectly to create a great fight.

“Miller is a very experienced boxer who is in intelligent and a great test for me at this point in my career. I believe that my talent and my speed and movement will lead me to victory. I am super prepared and believe that this will be a great fight,” Rivera told BoxingScene.com.

If all goes well on Saturday night, Rivera hopes that he can be fast tracked to a world title shot.

The Dominican Republic native hopes to win impressively and wants to put together a string of impressive victories so that he can fight for a title by the end of next year.

“I think he is a good name to have my resume. He’s a young boxer with a good record who is signed with Floyd Mayweather’s promotional company. This is a test that one must pass early in his career and I believe it will get me closer to a world title which is one of my goals in the sport,” said Rivera.
