Two cruiserweights with almost identical records of 20-1, differing only in the number of kayos, collided in Warsaw, Poland, and younger yet more experienced local hero Michal Cieslak came out as the quick winner, stopping Russian import Yuri Kashinskiy in the very first round. The fight was billed as an IBF cruiserweight eliminator.

WBA/IBF #4 and WBO #12 Kashinskiy, 35, was the first one to start action, using his left hooks to check Cieslak's guard. One of the blows went dangerously low, with referee Leszek Jankowiak paying little attention to this violation.

Cieslak responded soon with a huger right hook that went directly under another of the Russian's left hand bombs. This one landed flush, and Kashinskiy was staggered. Cieslak went in for the kill, when the referee waved it off to the major dismay of Kashinskiy, who was still standing.

WBC #, WBO #7 and IBF #8 Pole (21-1, 15 KOs) is now a mandatory challenger for the red belt, owned by Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis. CIeslak's sole loss came off the hands of WBC reigning champion Ilunga Makabu in January 2020. Kashinskiy drops down to 20-2, 18 KOs, the other loss being a decision dropped to Ruslan Fayfer in November 2019.

In a co-feature, rising super middleweight prospect Lukasz Stanioch (6-0, 1 KO) acquired a vacant WBC - believe it or not - Francophone title, outpointing well-travelled veteran Robert Talarek (24-14-3, 16 KOs). Scores were: 99-91 x 2, and 98-92.

Also, cruiserweight Nikodem Jezewski (20-1-1, 9 KOs) got back to a W-column, following a quick blowout from recently crowned WBO king Lawrence Okolie in December 2020, by outpointing Czech Vladimir Reznicek (10-4-2, 3 KOs) over eight rounds: 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74 were the scores.
