The undercard to the Raul Martinez vs. Victor Proa main event was highlighted by up and coming Michael Perez.  He faced Tommy Garcia in a scheduled for 4 round jr. Lightweight lbout.  Perez (131 lbs; 2-0) came from Newark, NJ with business on his mind.  Garcia, now 2-3, did not understand Perez’s business plan.   Perez came in behind the jab with three powerful left hooks took Garcia down and out at 2:40 of the first stanza.

Dennis Hasson is a super middleweight with plenty of local support.  He improved to 5-0 on foot power during his 6 round bout with Ariel Espinal.  Hasson used the ring to avoid standing in front of the plodding Espinal to capture the unanimous, shutout decision.  Espinal is now even at 6-6-2.

Lightweight Victor Vasquez had s short night by knocking out Mario Galan.  The end came at 1:33 of the 2nd round when the southpaw Vasquez flurried until Galan went down.  Galan falls to 4-5-1 and Vasquez raises his record t 8-2.

Heavyweight Faruq Saleem listened to his corner’s instructions to methodically work behind the jab and not wait to punch.  Most of the bout was one or two punches at a time, but the later the fight got, the more frequent the exchanges occurred.  Perryman (223 lbs) was dropped in the 4th round of a 6-ruond bout. Saleem, 257 lbs, did enough to defeat Willie Perryman, who is much shorter than Saleem, by unanimous decision.
