Junior welterweight Michael Perez will fight Miguel Acosta in a 10 round bout, trainer Robert Garcia advised BoxingScene.com on Monday afternoon.

The bout will take place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 20. In the main event of the Golden Boy Promotions card, Eric Hunter and Rene Alvarado will square off in a 10 round featherweight bout.

Both bouts will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports Deportes.

Originally from Newark, New Jersey, Perez (21-1-2, 10 KOs) trains with Robert Garcia in Oxnard, California. In his last bout on September 6, Perez dropped Jared Robinson once in route to a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision over Jared Robinson.

Perez is unbeaten in his last seven bouts since losing by technical knockout to Omar Figueroa in January of 2012.

Acosta (29-7-2, 23 KOs) has not fought since losing a 10 round unanimous decision to Miguel Angel Gonzalez in May of 2013. The Venezuelan-born fighter has lost four of his last five bouts.

Acosta won the interim WBA lightweight title on July of 2009, stopping Urbano Antillon in the sixth round. Three fights later, Acosta lost the title to Brandon Rios in July of 2011.
